PROFOUND PRESENCE is your doorway to connection and healing (pets too!)

profound presence

PROFOUND PRESENCE is something we can all get better at – and when you do, healing is the result!

Profound presence is something that I work on every day. I’ve been doing this for years. I’ll never stop, because the more I work at it, the stronger my presence becomes. Sometimes the growth is slow. Sometimes it doesn’t seem like my presence is growing at all for a while, but I know that the more I work at it, the more all the ‘under the hood’ things that support my next cycle of expansion and growth will get stronger and clearer.

Presence is sexy.

Presence is magnetically attractive.

Presence helps you see what needs attention sooner rather than later.

Presence is a leadership quality.

Presence helps you help yourself, your pets, and your family more powerfully.

Profound presence is a gift that you can give to your pets, and to yourself, but my experience is that I have to work at it. It’s a bit like my music, playing the guitar, and singing. If I stop practicing, I lose capacity, I lose skill, I lose expressions. If I keep practicing, all of these things grow.

You could also think of it as a garden. You need to find and weed out all of the things in yourself and your life that reduce your presence. Addictions, survival patterns, traumas, etc. You need to tend to the soil, nourish it with compost and fertilizer. You need to plant new seeds in the right seasons, and then care for the plants as they grow before finally harvesting your crop.

Profound presence is something that is deeply valuable, and very much worth devoting time and effort towards growing in yourself, and in your life. Once you get good and strong in this, you can then support your pets to gain greater presence. That helps them in many ways.

Let’s look at the meanings of the words.

Profound: ‘felt or experienced or expressed very strongly’. The older meanings include: ‘deep, bottomless, vast’ and ‘to penetrate, reach inside, saturate, fill’.

Presence: ‘ the awareness of what is happening within you and around you’. The older meanings include: ‘state of being in a certain place and not some other’, and ‘calm, collected state of mind’.

I always find the older, deeper meanings – where the words came from – fascinating. So when you learn and grow a practice of being here, only here, in a calm, collected, deep, bottomless, vast state of awareness and consciousness, then your life will be very different. And a lot better. You’ll notice what needs to be done, and how, far sooner.

You’ll be more effective in everything that you do. You’ll be better able to help your pets, your relationships will become stronger, and you’ll notice that healing becomes natural and powerful. At least that’s been my experience. And I’m much more able to meet challenges in a healthy way.

Some practical tips for growing and maintaining PROFOUND PRESENCE

The first thing is to be kind to yourself, to go easy, and to realise that your capacity for presence will wax and wane, no matter how long you’ve been working at it, no matter what your capacity is. I know I’m having a slow day today. I’m not as ‘on song’ as I usually am. And that’s ok!

The next thing is to treat this as a long-term project – to make these practices an honest priority!

And finally, just keep on doing them, no matter what.

Here are some things you can do to grow and maintain your own profound presence.

  • Bring your awareness into and throughout your whole being, again and again. At some point you’ll find it easier to maintain this. Simply be present with and appreciate everything that you are experiencing.
  • Allow your mind to be busy, or quiet, but don’t get tangled up in those mental activities. Observe them form a distance while remaining aware of everything and everyone.
  • Journal – self-reflection helps you know yourself better, and the better you know (and accept) yourself, the deeper your presence becomes.
  • Make a point of ACTIVE LISTENING – ask people (and your pets) questions like ‘Tell me more about that?’, and ‘What do you mean by that?’ for a while before any response from you.
  • When you notice you’ve lost presence, treat this as a wonderful opportunity to regain presence, rather than beating yourself up for losing it. We all lose presence, no matter how much we have practiced.
  • Meditate – all kinds of meditation help build presence.

Another fun, healing, highly effective way to grow into profound presence is to come and learn Whole Energy Body Balance™ with me. This modality, created from 28 years of direct, deep experience in hands-on therapies with animals and humans, and in inituitive/energyhealing work, not only helps you awaken and express the power of your healing capacity (yes, you are a powerful healer, we all are), but it is highly effective in teaching you how to grow and maintain profound presence.

Our core practice in WEBB, The Somatic Embodiment + Energy Connection process, is designed to get you into the most powerful state of presence and connection possible. This then sets you up to do healing work with pets (or with people) in a way that nourishes and protects you.

I invite you to consider  Whole Energy Body Balance™ Bodywork for Pets. Not only will you learn how to find and heal your pet’s Silent Pain, Anxiety, and Trauma, but you’ll learn how to listen deeply as you explore therapeutic touch with your pets (who will LOVE IT).
