LETTING GO is a skill, and an art form, that enhances all facets of life for you and your pets

Letting go is simple. It can be easy. You need awareness to begin with, and then a willingness to practice. It’s a skill, a muscle, a life practice that enhances everything. I believe that letting go is the greatest lesson I’ve ever learned in this life.

Doing this doesn’t mean disconnecting. This is super-important to understand. A lot of people I work with think that letting go means cutting the relationship off, and so they have major resistance to doing so. The truth is that when you can let go, untangle, release, individuate, this makes space for your relationships to get stronger, deeper, more beautiful, and a whole lot healthier.

The opposite of letting go is clinging. A lot of us humans have been taught how to cling to our families of origin to survive. Or we cling to our animals (or partners) because we don’t love ourselves, or we don’t think we are worthy of love. The harder we cling, the less freedom there is. The more we get entangled, the more we push this other being away from us at deeper levels. It harms our relationships.

Letting go is worth learning, expressing, and making an ongoing part of your life. Clinging is also a sign of a need to feel in control. The more controlling any relationship is, the less room for healthy love it has. The more freedom, the happier and healthier everything is.

Letting go – a step by step guide for you and your pets

Number one! Tell your pets, right now, today, out loud, that you will let them go and help them when the end of their life comes. Tell them (out loud) that you’ll be ok when they are gone, that you’ll be able to move on and care for yourself. The more resistance that you have to actively letting go like this, the more entangled and clingy you are. This is often unconscious, so don’t feel bad or beat yourself up.

Just use your resistance (if you have any) as motivation to work at letting go, little by little, all the time.

Number two! If you’re stuck, seek help. I help people with this all of the time. Energy healing is a very powerful way to help with letting go – firstly by healing the patterns of life and traumas that cause clinging dynamics, and secondly by gently untangling you and your pets. I created the Whole Energy Body Balance Method to help everyone have the opportunity to learn how to let go in healthy, powerful ways. I can help you with one-on-one sessions, or you can learn how to with our online programs.

Letting go is a way of life, once you realise how beautiful, how powerful, how helpful it is in making your relationships stronger, deeper, and healthier. You’ll gradually become more and more aware of where you are clinging, and then simply relax and let go, supporting greater freedom, harmony, and healing for all the family. And especially for your beautiful self!

It’s an incredibly important awareness, skill, and life-practice. The more you do it, the better. And as I said, you are not withdrawing or disconnecting – but you are shifting the nature of your connection to a much better place.

Here’s a short video of me discussing this topic.
