Being BEAUTIFULLY BUSY is a wonderful way to live life

I invite you to become BEAUTIFULLY BUSY. Your life (and your pets’) will be SO MUCH BETTER!

I used to hate being busy. It was a drag, stressful, and my inner dialogue about being busy was TOXIC. One day, I wondered what it might feel like to be beautifully busy. Turns out, it feels good. A LOT better than how I used to think about it. I used to say things (with woeful tones of voice) like ‘I’m terribly busy’, or ‘Gee, I wish I weren’t so busy’. I’d say this to myself, and to others. Every time I said it, I’d feel even worse!

Being beautifully busy is really simple and very easy. You just decide to be beautifully busy, and then start thinking about and talking about being beautifully busy. That’s it. Yes, you might slip back into old habits and have to reset a few times. But you can do that. It’s not hard.

Lets take a quick look at the origins, the deeper meanings of these words.

Beautiful: ‘pleasing to the eye (or ear) or mind or soul’.

Whatever your work is, paid or unpaid, if you decide that it is pleasing to your soul, so it shall be. What pleases and displeases you has everything to do with how you think and feel about it – and you absolutely have the power to change that.

Busy: ’employed or occupied’.

We are all employed and occupied with all sorts of things in our life. Our animals, our jobs, our relationships, our creative pursuits, our fun! If you decide to be joyful in whatever you do, to always be beautifully busy, I find this relaxes a hell of a lot of tensions out of life. Of course, your beloved animals will feel the difference in you, and benefit immensely.

Here’s how to be beautifully busy!

 

  • Every time you talk about being busy, tell everyone that you are ‘beautifully busy’ – a lot of people will want to do the same! Because it makes sense, and it feels so much better.
  • Remember to smile often as you do all the things that keep you beautifully busy, no matter how seemingly mundane they are.
  • Appreciate the things that you have to do.
  • Appreciate the people you work with, be kind.

And remember to make sure you have balance, and don’t become over-busy. Burnout is NOT being beautifully busy!
