Choose to be amused! Bring joy into your life in a natural and easy way (which your pets will love!)
This is a simple little inner hack. Choose to be amused. A way to change how you think, which will then change how you feel in good, good ways. A few years back, I allowed a lot of things to annoy me. To get me frustrated, impatient, angry, etc.
Someone behaving like a pork chop used to really trigger me. Could have been someone cutting across in traffic, driving like a loon. Or a dog with no sense of boundaries or self-regulation. Or my whippet chewing up my pens. Or people out in the world doing ridiculous, dangerous things. Or whatever. Now? I choose to be amused.
We all have our special triggers. Those things that really get our goat. Next thing you know, your day is doom spiralling down into whatever heavy emotion you are most expert in generating (yes- it’s YOU that makes them, and it’s also you who can change them to different ones!). Guess what – you could change track, and choose to be amused.
It might be that you are an expert in annoyance, or frustration, or disapproval, or impatience, or being judgmental and preachy, or down in the dumps, or edgy, or whatever. I could go on for days.
Here’s a question for you.
How would your life look and feel in 6 months if you choose to be amused, and become an expert at that, no matter what?
Speaking from my experience, when I choose to be amused, I live life with a smile on my face, unruffled, with so much more energy to put into creation, relationships, and joy.
Choose to be amused – here’s how to do it!
Step one is to make a whole-hearted decision and commitment to do this, to change your thinking, to generate different kinds of feelings in your being, and choose to be amused. I won’t sugar-coat it. There is work involved, and you will backslide at first – you gotta allow that to be ok, because it’s normal.
Step two is to be honestly amused at the incredible pork-choppery of humans and animals. Probably best to have a quiet smile on the inside with humans, as it might upset them just a little if you smile and laugh outwardly at their peccadillos. And that’s not the intention. The intention is for you to be inwardly amused instead of generating heavy emotions, getting triggered, and ruining your day.
